When doing digital art, is it necessary to have graphic tablet using maya or 3dmax?

no no no, not neccesary..makes things a little easier, but not required....tablets come in handy for photoshop or other painting programs more than anything else, atleast thats what i use mine for...i use poser 6 for my 3ding needs..
