Are you referring to the software package 3dsMax (3d Studio Max) which is put out by Autodesk? If so, the tutorials provided with the package I found to be not only an excellent knowledge base and somewhere to start learning, but actually had great information that I've used plenty of other places. Also, the 3dsMax 8 Bible, by Kelly Murdock is a great source of information!
